Evaluating Ice Load during Submarine Surfacing and Ice Breaking

چکیده
At present, the calculation method of ice load on surface navigation ships has been very mature, but submarine is few. The reasonable evaluation become an urgent problem to be solved. In this paper, mechanical characteristics surfacing ice-breaking process are systematically analyzed. Based theory plate and shell, theoretical models resistance command tower hull established, respectively, obtained. Then, model SUBOFF used perform numerical simulation submarine’s process. result compared with model. results show that proposed in paper consistent results, influence parameters such as properties, upper area tower, initial crack length established. can provide a reference for optimization design polar structures.

Assimilation of ice motion observations and comparisons with submarine ice thickness data
[1] Aided by submarine observations of ice thickness for model evaluation, we investigate the effects of assimilating buoy motion data and satellite SSM/I (85 Ghz) ice motion data on simulation of Arctic sea ice. The sea-ice model is a thickness and enthalpy distribution model and is coupled to an ocean model. Ice motion data are assimilated by means of optimal interpolation. Assimilating motio...

Enhanced submarine ice-shelf melting strongly controls ice loss in the Amundsen Sea embayment (ASE) of West Antarctica, but its magnitude is not well known in the critical grounding zones of the ASE's major glaciers. Here we directly quantify bottom ice losses along tens of kilometres with airborne radar sounding of the Dotson and Crosson ice shelves, which buttress the rapidly changing Smith, ...
متن کاملSurfacing behavior and gas release of the physostome sprat (Sprattus sprattus) in ice-free and ice-covered waters
Upward-facing echosounders that provided continuous, long-term measurements were applied to address the surfacing behavior and gas release of the physostome sprat (Sprattus sprattus) throughout an entire winter in a 150-m-deep Norwegian fjord. During ice-free conditions, the sprat surfaced and released gas bubbles at night with an estimated surfacing rate of 3.5 times per fish day-1. The vertic...

متن کاملBreaking the ICE - Finding Multicollisions in Iterated Concatenated and Expanded (ICE) Hash Functions
The security of hash functions has recently become one of the hottest topics in the design and analysis of cryptographic primitives. Since almost all the hash functions used today (including the MD and SHA families) have an iterated design, it is important to study the general security properties of such functions. At Crypto 2004 Joux showed that in any iterated hash function it is relatively e...
